November has come and gone

Certainly my least favourite month!
I came across this rhyme that I had forgotten on Autolycus’s blog, and shameless copied and pasted it. Just adding one of those November photos, which could very well have been taken in black and white

winter tree and sky

No sun, no moon!
No morn, no noon!
No dawn, no dusk, no proper time of day,

No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member -
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! -
November!

A rose
The Rose Family

Robert Frost (1874-1963)

T he rose is a rose,
And was always a rose.
But the theory now goes
That the apple’s a rose,
And the pear is, and so’s
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only knows
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose -
But were always a rose.

.

Happy birthday, Julie and many happy returns. I love you.

Tears in heaven

IN HEAVEN
In Heaven

Tears in heaven
Would you know my name if I saw you in Heaven?
Would you feel the same if I saw you in Heaven?
I must be strong and carry on,
‘Cause I know I don’t belong here in Heaven ……

Would you hold my hand if I saw you in Heaven?
Would you help me stand if I saw you in Heaven?
I’ll find my way, through night and day,
‘Cause I know I just can’t stay here in Heaven …..

Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart, have you begging …. please …

Beyond the door, there’s peace I’m sure.
And I know there’ll be no more tears in Heaven …….

Would you know my name if I saw you in Heaven?
Would you feel the same if I saw you in Heaven?
I must be strong and carry on,
‘Cause I know I don’t belong here in Heaven

Eric Clapton

The photo of Eric Clapton was taken by ultomatt who has a fantastic set of photos that he took at one of Eric Clapton’s concerts in August 1975.

I took the photo IN HEAVEN in April 2007 at Great Yarmouth cemetery, where Elly and Leo Reynolds took me when I visited Norwich.

Love Autumnal

Love Autumnal

MY love will come in autumn-time
When leaves go spinning to the ground
And wistful stars in heaven chime
With the leaves’ sound.

Then, we shall walk through dusty lanes
And pause beneath low-hanging boughs,
And there, while soft-hued beauty reigns
We’ll make our vows.

Reflection in a puddle

Let others seek in spring for sighs
When love flames forth from every seed;
But love that blooms when nature dies
Is love indeed!

Oliver Jenkins

I have come across this poem several times and like it. Maybe it’s corny, but I like corny. I wish I could have provided a link for Oliver Jenkins, but I haven’t been able to find one!

Shine! shine! shine!

Filed under: Photography,Poems and stuff — Claude @ 11:30 am

(…) Shine! shine! shine!

Pour down your warmth, great sun!
While we bask, we two together.

Two together!
Winds blow south, or winds blow north,
Day come white, or night come black,
Home, or rivers and mountains from home,
Singing all time, minding no time,
While we two keep together. (…)

I want to thank toli, a long time friend and now a flickrino who blogs at Absolutely Awesome for taking this beautiful photo at Brighton pier and letting me use it.
