My Weekly Flick: Au revoir, soleil

There was a family behind us watching the sunset and you can hear a little girl’s voice saying

Au revoir, soleil ! (goodbye, sun), à demain, soleil !(see you tomorrow, sun)

Saying goodbye to the sun

And hoping it’s not goodbye for a long time, since this is the first sunny day in over a week, in Normandy!
They ARE announcing rain for tomorrow :(

This could be my motto!

Just as I was about to post this Maxine cartoon on my blog this morning, something awful happened. My blog just disappeared from the blogosphere. I tried to preview the post, and got a message that said:

You can’t get there from here.

Just where was here, and where was there, it didn’t say, but that’s all I could see!
When I typed http://blogginginparis.com, the same thing happened.
I had access to the dashboard, so I saved the blog. One chore that I might not have done otherwise.

This is exactly how I feel and act about a lot of things

Was I being punished for adopting Maxine’s maxim?

Incidentally, I didn’t know Maxine had a blog, I’m sure you did, Ronni!

Wednesday Window: Last week at my birthplace

Last week, my newly-found old friend, Annik, who lives in the centre of France, drove me to Issoudun, where I was born and a few miles away from where they were hidden during WWII.

France, Berry, Thoiry
Evening sky near Thoiry

Thoiry was only a hamlet, three or four farms, somewhere between Saint-Georges sur Arnon and Charost, in the province of Berry, where my parents found shelter.

My Weekly Flick: Slow as a snail?

Well, I have not really been slow or lazy, but busy! So much so, that I didn’t have time to post a Wednesday Window, as I was on the road on Wednesday, on the road on Thursday, getting some rest yesterday, and getting around to posting a couple of things on flickr today, FINALLY!
Sorry for missing several weeks of Weekly Flicks, but things should get back to normal, now. ;)

So here it is. More soon! Promise!!!

You can hear my friend Catherine‘s voice, in French, complaining about my spending time filming a snail, and my friend Peggy‘s voice in English.
The snail was going his own sweet way on a map of Holy Island
