to have and to hold

for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,

It’s too bad she had to put a coat on over her gown!
Nice shot ! Not the most romantic place for the married couple to have their picture taken though.
Beautiful! And I hope they do love and cherish each other!
I like it. It’s says real life to me.
What an absolutely fantastic shot! Beau-ti-ful, can’t get any better than that. Love it!
What a great picture Claude. Mother Nature has played a factor in so many of the memorable moments in our lives…even when she’s not invited.
@ Matt, it seems that lots of people think the esplanade of Trocadéro is thoroughly romantic, with the Eiffel tower which is not in my photo, but is definitely in the background. But of course, on such a windy and rainy day, Wuthering Heights would have been more romantic
@ Joy and believe me she wasn’t invited! It was freezing cold and verrry windy! Which explains the coat on the bride’s shoulders. No one would like to start their marriage with pneumonia!
Anyway, thanks everyone!
Brrrr. I hope the photographer was quick and they were able to have some more pictures taken indoors to fill the album.
Brrrrrrrr – but still its life.
Great shot, Claude. But it is a shame they didn’t have a better day weather-wise to start their new life together. Love both her gown and her coat.
I love that shot! I love how unseasonably tanned the bride is and how cold they both look! I hope they have many happy years together. I’m sure the location is much prettier with a blue sky and a warmer temperature.
What were you doing? Just walking past?
I just wanted to say how much I love your photo of the week. I have always wanted to inside the Opéra Garnier, but never have. Maybe one day. And your photo makes me really want to go!
I’ve not been getting out and about enough in the blogosphere. This is wonderful, Claude. You have such an eye for telling moments…
What does weather have to do w milestones? My friends’ son was a bar mitzva in an unexpected snow blizzard (causing me and many others to miss the service) and the family coped w the disappointment of missing guests w this bright idea — how many such services do we remember (if we attended or not)? This one, we’ll all remember.
such a great capture! brrrrrrr and beautiful!
