Inklings of spring?

Filed under: Paris wanderings, Photography — Claude @ 12:05 pm

I know it’s much too early to be mentioning spring, but on a sunny day, when you see

daffodils
daffodils, raising their yellow heads in a public garden,

People feeling that it’s warm enough to sit on a bench

and read in the sun

Even tights in this shopwindow are so colourful that they’re just calling for spring!

colourful tights
Striped and colourful

and old ladies go out for a walk… (I actually missed the appropriate shot here. The car on the right was backing up and she stopped it with her cane! But my camera was too slow to catch it)

walking
rue du Bac, fighting cars
Spring must be on its way!

  1. This calls for the classic, “Ah, springtime in Paris”. No young lovers??? And I want those tights.

  3. Spring can’t be far away, Claude. Your effervescence
in the choices for photo subjects is marvelous!

Here in Arkansas we went from 30’s in the daytime to close
to 70 today which puts us square in the middle of tornado
season for at least the next several months. We are 12th
in the USA for tornadoes. Though spring is quick here and
often glorious, Mother Nature adds the tornado threat just
    to keep us humble.

Hope you have a great walk today!

  4. Your photos are turning my thoughts to spring — yet there are small snowflakes drifting past my window.
Thanks for the glimpses of spring

  5. We’ve got snowdrops and daffodils are still mere spikes.

You’ve got to have a lot of confidence to wear those tights OR really good ankles. I wonder what the French equivalent of Queen Size is?

  9. I’d read on somebody else’s blog (that lives in Paris) that spring is in the air there. And I’ll tell you what I told him…..PLEASE keep it there for when I arrive in 3 weeks!
Your photos are great! I just might have to purchase some of those tights! I love them. Talk about tres chic….lol
And I love the one of the woman, her cane and the car. Ah yes…..walking in Paris. I’d almost forgotten how dangeous that can be…lol
And the Daffodills….MY flower, since I was born in March and I’ve always loved them, so thanks for sharing that. Doesn’t just the sight of those conjour up thoughts of spring?

  11. I love it when canes are used properly :)
If I were still living in Vancouver, I’d be posting similar flower pictures, but here in Toronto we’re nowhere near that stage yet.

  12. came across this following a link from somewhere — daffodils in Paris. A couple ofdays ago I posted a picture of the daffs under our willow tree and dedicated them to Eric whose Paris Daily Photo blog is now two years old.

  13. Our daffodils here in PA were semi-frozen by the cold nights this week…they are all drooping…I love this picture, especially the daffys juxtaposed with the leaves…I’ve put it on as my wallpaper on one of my computers. The laptop has Terri’s roses! Thank you! Sara
