Besides being a great humorist and a great columnist, Art Buchwald did something few people if any, have managed: he walked out of a hospice alive.
But those kidneys finally got the better of him, Art Buchwald died yesterday.

I absolutely loved his sense of humour and also the way he lived his life… and death. Art was a true Parisian from 1948 to 1962. Come to think of it, he moved to Paris at the same time I did! At least one thing I had in common with that remarkable man

He will be missed.
